Acropolis T-Shirt; Regression

Posted on/at 8:26 PM by Web Thing

At first glance, at least to me, this Acropolis t-shirt named Regression looks as if they Acropolis logo is is being used as a tent, just outside the city limits.

Again, maybe it's just me; but while other people I know, work with or associate with fantasize about the 3 bedroom home 2.5 kids, plasma TV's and company picknics ... my guilty pleasure lies in a totally different direction ... If I'm sitting at my desk in the mid afternoon, staring off into space with a slight smile on my face - it's a fantasy that involves a 1970 something RV and a full tank of gas. When I run low on fuel ... wash dishes for a day or two ... fuel up, and move on. While to some that scenerio may appear to be regression, and maybe it is ... maybe that's exactly what we (or some of us anyway) really need.

Maybe progress is overrated.

Although I can's say for sure what the men and women of Acropolis were truly driving at, it's a darn cool t-shirt. Art IS still subject to interpretation isn't it?

Velicious Equenzi T-Shirt Tells You Where To Go

Posted on/at 10:07 AM by Web Thing

Here's a new entry from the folks at Velicious Equenzi. Unique and great looking stuff available for men and women. (including hoodies and those "who knew workout gear could be so sexy" fleece pants for women) The hook? They give 5% of each sale to the charity of YOUR Choice - in a simple dropdown that you select when you place your order. At last check, options included Dustin's Greenhouse, SPCA, JDRF, ACS, and (RED). What can I say - I'm a total sucker for do-gooders. Especially when they aren't just milking it and provide quality, fashionable goods ... at reasonable prices ... Learn more about what the cats VE are all about here: Velicious Equenzi

OK .. the shirt. This one is called "go". Upon closer inspection it appears to be a hodgepodge of North Carolina street signs & trucks. Personally, I chose this one because to me it represents the constant flickering of to-do list items in my head; places I need to be, phonecalls I need to return and the constant reminder to "GO" - as in pick off these items one at a time like a sniper. But hey, that's just me. I'm sure if this was a Saturday morning, it would have different implications - as in get up and GO - see something new - take a wrong turn - visit your grandmother ... you get the drift. Anyway - this one runs $22. GO get one (or another one, or a bunch of them)

Roman Apparel: Raising $ and Awareness with "SOLD" T-Shirt

Posted on/at 9:20 AM by Web Thing

I got a note from a friend of a friend that tuned me into what's going on over at Roman Apparel. All too often in our world of drive thru half-caff-mocha-lattes, 9 to 5 gigs and 900 channels of cable TV we get caught up in ourselves and lose sight of the bigger picture. It's ok, we are human; and once our basic needs are taken care of we tend to get a little comfortable.

On the flip side, the world is a very big place, with lots of people - many of whom can use our help. The folks at Roman Apparel and their friends saw a need - actually witnessed it first hand, and decided to to something about it, if even just to raise awareness.

The issue is Child Prostitution. I won't get into it here, but there is a wealth of information on their website. It will open your eyes and break your heart.

That being said, this SOLD Project t-shirt is a beauty. More work of fine craftsmen rather than "just some guys who make t-shirts". What's even more beautiful is that a whopping 50% of the $32 price of the SOLD Project t-shirt goes to the cause. Not only do you get a handsome tee & a chance to make an impact - but you can spread the word each and every time the person behind you in the check-out line inquires.

Eli Manning Autographed New York
Giants Authentic Blue Jersey

As the starting quarterback at Mississippi, Eli
Manning was forced to live up to the standards set by his father,
Archie, at Ole Miss, let alone trying to avoid the shadow of older
brother Peyton. Eli forged his own reputation, however, by setting
or tying 47 school records, among them the passing mark (by throwing
for 10,119 yards). Amid controversy, Manning went as the number
one pick in the 2004 NFL draft when he was selected by the San Diego
Chargers, who in turn immediately traded him to the New York Giants
for N.C. State quarterback Phillip Rivers, who had been picked fourth
overall. The Giants now have one of the NFL's premier quarterbacks,
who finished his collegiate career by leading Ole Miss to a 2004
Cotton Bowl victory and is currently aiming to guide Big Blue back
to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2001. Eli Manning has
hand signed this authentic blue Giants jersey which comes with a
Steiner Certificate of Authenticity.

Fashionable, Organic & Sweatshop Free T-Shirts from 302 Designs

Posted on/at 9:38 AM by Web Thing

You heard right - this shirt (and many more) not only rocks the house - but its certified organic (in case you want to eat it, i guess) and it was produced by real people making a living wage! Novel concepts indeed.

Whatever thier motovation is, it's working for them over there at 302 Designs. It's actually rare I have such a hard time deciding which shirt to feature from a single website, but these folks are cranking out an entire catalog of the most artistic, hip and just plain gorgeous t-shirts!

This one is called Passion - (there are 7 more great photos on thier site)and it runs about $36. Other men's designs run an extremely reasonable $25 - $38.

If everyone put as much passion into their t-shirts, the world would be a much more beautiful place.
