Just press play

Posted on/at 8:52 AM by Web Thing

Does anyone out there remember cassette tapes? How relieved were you when you realized that this mess, more often than not, could be fixed with a #2 pencil? The kids of today are so spoiled - not having to master the art of fast forwarding & rewinding. Little do they know the work and dedication it took to create that perfect mixed tape. Get nostalgic, and snag this t-shirt from ElseWares, where else?

Change by Design

Posted on/at 9:24 AM by Web Thing

Are you a graphic designer with a heart? World Without Poverty needs you! They are taking submissions for t-shirt ideas that they will in turn sell to fund their organization. Seems like a great idea. Artists get recognition alongside thier submissions as well as a posted profile and the satisfaction of actually making a difference. I'm all for a good cause, but lack the design experience to participate. One small (medium, large or XL) t-shirt for man (and woman) ... one giant leap for mankind.

I had to think twice about posting this t-shirt. When I was a kid the hammer and sickle was usually posted on bombs in the editorial comics, sybolizing the cold war ... and it was pretty scary. So I looked into it (wikipedia)and deep down it symbolizes the unity between laborers and peasants. Pretty noble. Since those days, the symbol pretty much means hockey anyway. This one is for Samsonov, Federov, Popov and Smirnoff! This t-shirt can be found in the bargain bin at for a measly 9 bucks.

Who's #1?

Posted on/at 9:58 AM by Web Thing

Hey, what's the point of having your own blog if you can't use it to support your favorite team(s)? Mine just happens to be the best team in baseball right now. Big Papi, Manny, Schill, Lowell, Tek ... the list goes on and on for the reasons we love this team - just as we loved Remy, Rice, Dwight, Wade, Yaz and conmpany growing up.

************Boston Red Sox T Shirts***************

In my opinion, this is a beautiful t-shirt, not just because of my Sox, but I love the detail. This one is embroidered, not screen printed. It's also a little pricey at $50 - that should keep the fairweather fans from sporting one of these bad boys.
Can't make it to Yawkey Way before the game? No sweat, order online at Yawkey Way Store.

Seek and You Shall Find

Posted on/at 10:51 AM by Web Thing

Boy o' boy did I have to do a lot of digging to find something I liked this morning! Just imagine how many shirts I had sift to find this one - on someones myspace page (of all places) in FRANCE! There's actually a lot of great t-shirt designs posted in this person's images folders - most in French, so I was unsure if some I liked were somewhat offensive (and there were definately some in there leaning that way). This one I inderstood. Not sure how you you might want to go about purchasing one, but here is the myspace page: link

Something Fishy Going on Around Here ...

Posted on/at 9:54 AM by Web Thing

...and I think it's this t-shirt. Something just kind of struck me about this one. It's not "ha ha funny", but it's kind of funny. The design seems very well thought out. The colors are actually quite striking. And the Japanese (Chinese?) characters are just kind of cool. I can't put my finger on it, but I want this t-shirt. Thank you Amagumo Press.

I Love a Good Deal

Posted on/at 1:32 PM by Web Thing

Ok, ok, ok. So, I give the big department stores a little flack for thier mass produced t-shirts. It's starting to dawn on me that they too have their place. So what if you aren't the only person in town with this gem? For 7 bucks, who cares! At first glance it instantly brought me back to all of the O.P. (Ocean Pacific) tee's that as a kid (on the East Coast in the 80's) that everybody had to have. Display your California Cool in this number. There's others at Walmart in the $7 range, but this was my favorite. If you are on a limited budget, and even if you aren't - this isn't a bad place to start your T-shirt collection.

From Geek to Chic ...

Posted on/at 4:20 PM by Web Thing under 60 minutes. With gas still hovering around $3 a gallon, those guys on the scooters don't look so silly now do they? Well, of course they do, but they'll have the last laugh, because they will have pocket change to purchase this groovey scooter tee from Lekker Designs. I know what you're thinking "Pocket change? T-Shirt Guy, you must be kidding1" Nope. Lekker has a bargain bin, so this and a bunch of other quasi-nerd friendly designs are available for just 15 bucks.

Go Nads! T-Shirt

Posted on/at 12:56 PM by Web Thing

Those whacky art students! I slipped into the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) website hoping to find really cool fun stuff designed by the students. Although I'm still trying to fing that stuff, this t-shirt popped out at me. Apparently their hockey team is called the Nads (I swear I'm not making this stuff up) So what's a more appropriate way to cheer on hockey playing art school students than chanting "Go Nads! Go Nads"

Perfect t-shirt for a Sunday during football season at the sports bar while your favorite Patriots Jersey is in the wash. I think what I like best about this shirt is that it offers no apology for being drunk. I got it on a ringer tee, but at TShirtHell they offer a lot of colors and styles.

More Tees with Trees

Posted on/at 3:59 PM by Web Thing

At the risk of becoming the Tree Shirt Blog, as opposed to the t-shirt blog ... here's another one. I tried to hold off, but I just would have lost the info in the depths of my computer somewhere. Sometimes it just happens that way. This one is from the folks at The Tea Party. Just something about this shirt that screams "Wear me!" Go ahead and check it out. The design is available in an array of colors on a pretty nice assortment of coordinated t's.

Museum Quality, Thrift Store Price - Art T-Shirt

Posted on/at 2:48 PM by Web Thing

Here's another one! A unique T-shirt to add to my collection. So, I've been on a bit of a Art Museum T-Shirt kick lately. One thing I have noticed is that they produce beautiful unique designs, and they aren't charging me the $65 that the high end designers want for their mass produced "be different like everyone else" junk. This one is a reasonable 20 bucks, created by a career artist (that I know nothing about - this isn't an art blog, it's a t-shirt blog - but of your interested, here is the link to her site: And it ROCKS!. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing againt your average "I'm with Stupid t-shirt" but there's a time and a place for everything. This one is made available by Gallery Nucleus

The Rare Deiononychus T-Shirt

Posted on/at 2:06 PM by Web Thing

Man, I dig cruising around the internet for t-shirts! Why? Variety baby! No matter what your style you can find a t-shirt just right for you. Everybody is printing up newer cooler tee shirts everyday. No longer are we handcuffed by what's available in the local super mega mart. I encourage you to snoop around and have some fun.
Like this one ... the Deiononychus available from Galaxy Goo. Don't get me wrong - I actually have zero interest in dinosaurs (or anything else that I'm pretty sure hasn't snuck up on a human in a bazzillion years) but this shirt is just plain cool! The best part? No one else on my block has one!

Shot in the Leg - $25

Posted on/at 1:32 PM by Web Thing

I'm certainly not a big proponent of violence, although I am pretty sure there are a few times in a man's life where he meets someone begging for a punch in the nose. Police involvement (or lack thereof) sure ain't what it used to be! Whatever happened to dualing pistols at high noon? This tee shirt from the Tenement Museum features a to do list, or menu found in the pocket of a thug in NYC in the 1880's Check it out!.

Bold Screen Prints + Euro Sizes = Tres Cool

Posted on/at 12:57 PM by Web Thing

OK, so the Brits can't cook in the kitchen ... but it must be hot on the streets of London! Something about this oversized print, (on what's sure to feel at least a size too small Euro faux layered tee) just oozes cool.. This and others are available at English

80's Retro Cool

Posted on/at 12:10 PM by Web Thing

I was there ... waiting with arms open when Video Killed the Radio Star first aired What an innocent time, cable TV was new (and the "remote" was still attached to the television with a 15 foot cord).Looking back now everything they showed was horribly cheesy and we ate it up! Well, it was the 80's and horribly cheesy was the name of the game. Back when Michael Jackson was king, Madonna was a sexy intreguing young woman, and every girl in gym class was wearing legwarmers.

************ TV Show T Shirts ***************

Long gone are the days of the music vidoes all day long on MTV. But now you can look back and say "Been there, done that" and for those of you that missed out ... the t shirt is still available. Check it out at 80's
